Labs that never decay

Every lab PC boots clean, shows only what the university allows, locks for exams, and resets itself when the student logs out.

One day in a lab, 07:58 to 17:30

  1. Every machine starts from the same clean system

The system disk resets at every boot. Whatever was installed or changed yesterday is gone before the first class. There is no login screen and nothing to wait for.

  2. Research works. Distractions don’t.

Scholar, arXiv, Moodle and the publishers they link to open normally. Social media, streaming, games and the rest are closed by category: 4,823,341 domains. Keeping the lists current is our job, not your IT staff’s.

  3. One page on every screen

The teacher switches the room to Lecture from a browser. A blue bar appears on every screen, and the page they send opens everywhere at once. No second machine, nothing extra to install.

  4. One locked page, and a record of every seat

The room locks to the exam page. A seat that leaves the exam or drops off the network turns red on the seat map and stays red, and the log records when and for how long.

It is a record, not a wall: friction, no persistence and visibility. We don’t call it unbypassable.

  5. The machine forgets the day

When the last student logs out, their folder is wiped and rebuilt. Tomorrow at 07:58 the lab boots exactly as it did this morning.

And once a month, a report the rector can hand to the ministry

With the institution’s name and the date range, in any of the three languages, printed straight from the browser.

  1. Lab utilization

Which lab, how many hours, which days

  2. Exam report

Every seat, every gap, with its length

  3. Inventory

How many machines, in which lab, on which version

What one machine costs for a year

Abroad, four separate products do this job for $241.66 per machine in the first year and $41.67 every year after, plus $3,295 a year for the exam software. Hoaka does all of it for $15 per machine, the same every year.

The full comparison

What Hoaka does not do

  • It does not touch personal phones, tablets or laptops
  • It does not watch through a webcam
  • It does not store screenshots
  • It does not record keystrokes
  • It does not send data to a cloud — the server is in the building
  • It does not supply exam content — the exam page is yours

Three universities. One lab each. This semester. Free.

One month, with a hard end date. Carrying on afterwards is your call.
